The Vinyl Project

Welcome or bienvenido as we say here in Spain. To find out what this is all about best have a read of The Vinyl Project which was initiated in 2009 by musician and friend Nick Tann. A quick resumen is that he is inviting 250 people to stump up 10 quid each so he can record and press an original vinyl disc of his songs. Those people will receive not only a copy of the record but among other things a signed limited edition print of the original artwork for the record.

To quote: 'The album sleeve will have original artwork but I'm not sure who the artist will be at the moment. I can assure you that it will be bloody marvelous though.' So let's clear things up: the artist is me and the bloody marvelous you can see for yourself at charlesolsen.es. And as with all small beginnings things have grown a little. It won't just be one painting but a series of paintings relating to each of the songs on the album. First up Nick suggested 'How do you sleep?' You can listen to it on his myspace.com/nicktann and if you have any images that come to mind drop me a line or comment and maybe I'll include it in some way.

Next up I'll get some colour on the page.
